Bad hair day beanie

Can you just imagine one of those days when you feel too lazy to dress up, and moreover you're having a bad hair day ? It's the kind of day when, if you go out, you'll surely bump into an old enemy of yours, or an exm, or someone you want to impress. 

Well, in days like these you'll better have your best friend with you - aka, one of your most treasured bags, the one you dreamt of for a long time - and a "who cares" attitude. A day like that will even turn into a good one if you'll be wearing at least one out of two must haves of this season: the "bad hair day" beanie and...a coatigan !.

Potete immaginare una di quelle giornate in cui vi siete svegliati senza voglia di vestirvi per bene, ed inoltre i vostri capelli non ne vogliono sapere di sistemarsi, ovvero state avendo un caso di "bad hair day" da manuale ? E' il genere di giornata in cui, se uscirete, finirete per incontrare una vostra nemica di lunga data, o l'ex che vi ha spezzato il cuore anni addietro o, peggio, qualcuno su cui volevate fare colpo.

Beh, in giornate come questa, farete meglio ad uscire accompagnate dalla vostra migliore amica - ovvero, una delle vostre borse preferite, quella sognata e finalmente vostra - ed un atteggiamento da "chissenefrega". Una giornata simile potrebbe persino rivelarsi divertente, indossando almeno uno dei due must have di questa stagione: il cappellino "bad hair day" e...un coatigan !.

They said we'll better not take life too seriously, and I agree with that. I created this outfit putting a few different things together, and surely the most eye catching thing is this aztec print coatigan I bought a while ago on Asos. What is a coatigan ? It's a hybrid between a cardigan and a coat, it's something cozy and large, possibly with a hood. It's like a shelter I bring with me when I walk, and dressed like that I feel as cool as a Ninja turtle, do you know ?.

Ho sentito dire che è inutile prendere la vita troppo sul serio, e sono d'accordo. Ho creato questo outfit mettendo insieme capi diversi, sicuramente il pezzo più vistoso è questo coatigan a stampa azteca che presi un po' di tempo addietro su Asos. Cosa è un coatigan ? E' una sorta di ibrido tra un cardigan e un cappotto, o coat, è qualcosa di accogliente e largo, possibilmente con cappuccio. E' come un rifugio da portarsi dietro quando si esce, e vestita così mi sento "cool" come una tartaruga Ninja, sapete ?.

Don't worry, I haven't gone completely nuts. I am just being myself, and I am as happy as I can be when I am wearing something that I bought because I like it !. 

The grey Bronx tee is from Pull & Bear, Zara skinny jeans are kind of old and my biker boots are one of my latest purchases, they are so comfortable ! I needed something plain and simple, my shoes closet is full with shoes with weird details, spikes, studs...and it's funny to admit there's more of statement pieces than "regular" shoes !. 

Non vi preoccupate, non sono impazzita, sono solo me stessa, felice quanto basta quando indosso qualcosa che a me piace e che ho comprato per quel motivo !.

La maglia grigia Bronx è Pull & Bear, i jeans skinny Zara sono di una passata stagione e i biker boots sono uno dei miei ultimi acquisti, sono super comodi !. Avevo bisogno di una scarpa semplice senza troppi fronzoli, la mia scarpiera è piena di scarpe con dettagli strani, punte, borchie...ed è buffo ammettere che ci siano più scarpe particolari che "ordinarie" !.

My beloved Givenchy Nightingale has an important role here: giving a chic touch to this crazy, fun outfit. It screams something like "ok, she is wearing an aztec coatigan and a funny beanie, but I can guarantee she can be stylish, she truly can, so stop staring and let her have some fun !". And to proove you that this coatigan has a working hood, here's a couple of pics of me playing with it !.

La mia adorata Nightingale Givenchy ha un ruolo importante in questo outfit: dare un tocco chic a questo look pazzo e divertente. Sembra gridare qualcosa come "ok, lei indossa un coatigan azteco e un cappellino buffo, ma posso garantire che può essere stilosa, può davvero, pertanto smettetela di fissarla e lasciatela sfogare un po' !". E per provarvi che il cappuccio del coatigan funziona, eccovi un paio di foto !.

 

I have to say this Front Row Shop beanie deserves a special mention, since I hate bad hair days more than your average woman. I mean, my husband knows that when I am having a really bad hair day my mood is as sweet as the one of a starving shark...especially when it's Fall, when the weather is foggy and humid, my hair reminds me that I have no control over it, and no matter how many products I try on it, it still won't collaborate with me. Does it happen to you as well ? Do you think this hat could be useful, at least to have a good laugh about your obsession ?. Do you also agree that building confidence needs the ability to laugh about our weaknesses ?.

Devo dire che questo cappellino di Front Row Shop merita una menzione speciale, dato che io odio con tutta me stessa avere la piega ai capelli fatta male. Ciò significa che mio marito sa bene che, quando sto avendo una di quelle giornate "no" per i capelli, il mio comportamento è dolce tanto quanto quello di uno squalo messo a dieta forzata...e, specialmente in Autunno, con il meteo umido e la nebbia, i capelli mi ricordano che non ho controllo su di loro e che, nonostante tutti i prodotti che vi metto, non collaboreranno ugualmente. Succede anche a voi ? Pensate che questo cappellino vi possa risultare utile, se non altro per ridere un po' sulla vostra fissazione ?. Credete - come me - che la fiducia in noi stessi si costruisca anche ridendo delle proprie debolezze ?.
